Inaugural Session
Opening Session:
The event began with a warm welcome by Hon. Consul General Mr. B.S. Mubarak, followed by an Introduction to Europe Tamilargal & Tamil Associations in Germany by Mr. Selvakumar Periasamy & Mr. Kannan Adhisheshan.
Chief Guest Addresses were delivered by Tamil Nadu State Ministers Hon. Mr. R. Sakkarapani (Food & Civil Supplies) and Hon. Mr. T.R.B. Rajaa (Industries). Hon. Minister Mr. R. Sakkarapani highlighted Tamil Nadu’s leadership in fostering a knowledge & skilling initiative. Mr. T.R.B. Raja spoke about the investment opportunities, and schemes and initiatives of the state that empowers the people of Tamil Nadu.
Followed by cultural performance – Bharatanatyam, Karagam, Kai-silambu and Paraittam were held.
Session 1: Non-Resident Tamil Welfare
Mr. Krishnamoorthy, IOFS, Commissionerate of Rehabilitation & Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils highlighted welfare schemes and collaboration opportunities for the Tamil diaspora, underscoring their role in Tamil Nadu’s growth.
Session 2: Entrepreneurial Pathways in Germany & India
The session featured a virtual presentation on Tamil Nadu MSME support schemes by Fame TN Additional Commissioner Tmt. Siva Soundravalli, IAS, and a talk by Mr. Arjun Charles. Mr. Sathees Sabaratnam delivered a presentation on starting businesses in Germany. A panel discussion, moderated by Mr. Nirmal Raman Kannaiyan, featured valuable insights from distinguished entrepreneurs and professionals, including Mr. Arun Damodaran (CEO & Founder, Aatek GmBH), Mr. Vijay Pravin Maharajan (CEO & Founder, bitsCrunch GmBH), Mrs. Porkodi Krishnan (Founder & Restaurateur, Indian Pepper Indian Restaurant), Mr. Daniel Raja (Director, BVMW e.V.), Mr. Sidhartha Muraleedharan Nair (International Trade & Procurement Consultant), and Mr. Karthick Ravindran (Global Procurement Head, ProSeat GmBH). The discussion explored entrepreneurial pathways, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration between Tamil Nadu and Germany.
Session 3: Students & Tamil Sangams
Experts Mr. Srinath Parameshwaran and Mr. Naga Kumar Gangeswaran, along with industry professionals, provided career advice, personalized feedback, and CV tips tailored for career opportunities. The session concluded with a panel discussion on career pathways, highlighting the critical role of networking and mentorship in achieving professional success. Mrs. Josephine Ramya presented about various Tamil organisations and Mr. Parthasarathy briefly spoke about founding Tamil Sangams in Germany.
Closing and Impact
The event concluded with remarks from Hon. Consul General Mr. B.S. Mubarak and a vote of thanks by Mr. Kannan Adiseshan. With over 400 participants, Tamil Nadu Day showcased the state’s dynamism, strengthened ties with the diaspora, and opened new avenues for collaboration with Germany, reaffirming Tamil Nadu’s role as a global hub for talent, culture, and innovation.
